Hamilton and clipping.’s Daveed Diggs to Produce TV Series About Rapper-Turned-Mayor

Original Hamilton cast member and clipping. rapper Daveed Diggs has signed on to executive produce a new series for ABC about a struggling rapper who runs for mayor to promote his new mixtape—and wins. While Diggs is working on the show, Deadline reports that the rapper/actor has not signed on to act in the new series. Diggs left Hamilton in July, and has recently appeared in the ABC sitcom “Black-ish” and Netflix’s Baz Luhrmann-directed series “The Get Down.”
