Hot Chip and Peanuts Team Up for Merch Line Featuring Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and More

Throughout 2013, This Charming Charlie, a blog that captioned Peanuts comic strips with Smiths lyrics, became popular among people who spend a lot of time on the Internet. Now, Hot Chip have had a similar idea, only this time it’s official. With the Schulz estate’s blessing, a new range designed in collaboration with TSPTR sees Hot Chip lyrics emblazoned on tees and sweatshirts along with assorted members of Snoopy’s gang. All designs come with front and backprints.

The limited-edition items, which come in four designs, are available to buy exclusively from Hot Chip’s webstore. A message on the site says: “Now you too can sport your favourite Peanuts character whose thoughts have seemingly been infiltrated by your favourite Hot Chip song lyrics – and one of Snoopy’s own declarations: ‘To Live Is To Dance, To Dance Is To Live!’”

In an email, Alexis Taylor, who masterminded the merch line, added: “The original Spruce 1960s Peanuts sweatshirts which I collect were, in part, an inspiration behind the colour spectrum for our new album sleeves.” Check out the full range.
