Iggy Pop and Josh Homme Chat on "The Alligator Hour"

Iggy Pop just released his new album Post Pop Depression, which was co-written and recorded with Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age/Eagles of Death Metal). The two have already discussed the project on the Nerdist podcast and “Song Exploder.” Now, Homme has had Iggy as a guest on a special episode of his Beats 1 radio show “The Alligator Hour,” which was taped live during SXSW. During the episode, they talk about their favorite music growing up, how technology affects music-making today, and take questions from the audience. During the show, they play songs by Ray Charles, the Coasters, Gary Numan, and more. Listen to the whole episode here, and watch a preview video below.

On her own Beats 1 show, St. Vincent’s Annie Clark recently made an Iggy Pop mixtape for Josh Homme.

Previous guests on “The Alligator Hour” include Savages, EoDM’s Jesse Hughes, and Arctic Monkeys’ Alex Turner.
