Interpol Release New Track "What Is What"

Interpol have collaborated once again with Shepard Fairey, who was behind the cover art of Antics. Fairey created a Brooklyn mural in honor of their El Pintor single “Everything is Wrong” featuring the anagrams “The Very Growing Sin” and “Every Wrong Insight”. He also pointed out Interpol’s new website, and if you type in the words “Everything Is Wrong”, you get a download of that song plus an unreleased track called “What Is What”. Grab it here.

Fairey wrote about his decision to create a mural based on “Everything Is Wrong”:

The lyrics to “Everything Is Wrong” are open to interpretation, but whether the song is about hard living, relationship failures, wear and tear on the environment, or an empire mentality, regret for poor decisions seems to be the theme. I decided to explore the idea of being complicit in a personal relationship or a relationship with a system that one realizes is unhealthy.
