Jack White Directs Goofy Ad for Third Man T-Shirts With Elaborate Backstory
Jack White‘s Third Man Records is selling a new T-shirt. It’s got the label’s logo on the front pocket and is available in white, gray, and black. The shirt’s announcement is accompanied by an elaborate, goofy back story and a promotional film directed by White himself, which can be watched below.
The “David James Swanson Third Man Record Pocket T” was (allegedly) developed by Whirlwind Heat frontman David Swanson. A limited edition version of the shirt comes with an image of a gold chain printed on the inside of the front collar (you know, to pretend like you’re wearing a gold chain) and a flexi-disc containing two “Hawaiian” covers of Whirlwind Heat songs.
The shirt goes on sale on Friday online and at the Third Man store in Nashville.
