Janet Jackson Announces Rescheduled Tour

Janet Jackson will resume her postponed Unbreakable tour on September 7, she revealed in a video on her website today. In the clip, Jackson states that she has renamed the tour to “State of the World” tour (named after a song from her seminal album, Rhythm Nation 1814). She explains, “It’s not about politics. It’s about people, the world, relationships, and just love.” The tour will span through December 17 and will feature dates in a host of North American cities. The announcement comes after a mysterious countdown launched on her website came to an end. The pop star recently gave birth to her son, Eissa; her pregnancy was what caused her to postpone the world tour dates behind her most recent album. Earlier this month, Jackson was sued in a class action lawsuit brought against her by a fan who claimed the singer was holding back from issuing refunds on the grounds that the tour was “rescheduled” and not “cancelled.”
