Jenny Lewis and Johnathan Rice Score Anne Hathaway Film, Music Featured in New Trailer

A new Anne Hathaway film is getting a score courtesy of ex-Rilo Kiley frontwoman Jenny Lewis and her boyfriend/collaborator Johnathan Rice. Jenny and Johnny wrote a collection of original songs for Song One, the new film produced by Jonathan Demme. Lewis and Rice also collaborated on the score alongside Bright Eyes’ Nathaniel Walcott. The movie’s out in theaters and on demand on January 23. Watch the trailer, which features the first sample of the film’s music, below.

Demme’s resume spans from The Silence of the Lambs to Rachel Getting Married (another Hathaway flick). Kate Barker Froyland wrote and directed the film.

The movie stars Hathaway as an archaeologist who becomes romantically involved with her ailing brother’s favorite musician, played by British musician and actor Johnny Flynn.

It’s worth noting that Hathaway also appeared in Lewis’ “Just One of the Guys” video, and the two sang together at Beck concert.

Correction: A previous version of this story omitted Walcott’s name.
