Joe Budden Targets Drake Once More With “Afraid”: Listen

Back in June, Joe Budden began an all-out assault on Drake with “Making a Murderer (Part 1),” a response to a teased clip from French Montana’s recently released single “No Shopping,” which references Budden’s “Pump It Up.” Budden followed “Making a Murderer (Part 1)” with “Wake” five days later, but neither track received a response from Drake. Not long after the official version of “No Shopping” aired on OVO Sound Radio yesterday, Budden released a third track called “Afraid.” Listen to it below.

The conflict began in May when Budden reviewed Drake’s VIEWS on his “I’ll Name This Podcast Later” podcast, saying Drake sounded “real fuckin’ uninspired.” A week later, French Montana shared the “No Shopping” clip that prompted the Budden responses. In an interview with Pitchfork, Budden stated that he wasn’t interested in starting beef, just reigniting Drake’s competitive fire: “I’m tired of rappers addressing things in every other manner in passion but rap.” Read the full interview with Budden about “Making a Murderer (Part 1).”
