John Carpenter Announces New Halloween Director, “Might Even Do the Music”

Last year, composer and director John Carpenter announced his return to the Halloween franchise as executive producer for the next film. Now, he’s unveiled the creative team: David Gordon Green (Pineapple Express) will direct, and Danny McBride (Eastbound & Down, This Is the End) will co-write the script with him, IGN reports. “I might even do the music,” Carpenter wrote on Facebook. “Maybe. It could be kind of cool.” See his post beow.

Carpenter scored the original Halloween, and recently re-recorded its iconic theme, along with his scores for Escape from New York and other films.
