Kanye, Chance, Grimes, the Weeknd, More Announced for NYC Festival the Meadows

A new NYC festival, the Meadows, from the folks behind Governors Ball, has announced its inaugural lineup. Headliners Kanye West, the Weeknd, Chance the Rapper, and Kygo will be joined by Grimes, Empire of the Sun, Pusha T, Kamasi Washington, Twin Shadow performing Prince’s Purple Rain, Savages, Yeasayer, Chairlift, Bryson Tiller, and more. It’ll take place October 1-2 at Citi Field complex in Queens’ Flushing Meadows Corona Park. Kanye’s booking came after the cancelation of his original Governors Ball appearance this month, according to the press release. See the poster below.

“Launching the Meadows Festival in Queens this fall with an incredible lineup of music, art, food and culture is a dream come true,” said Tom Russell, a partner at Governors Ball makers Founders Entertainment, in the press release. “As a native New Yorker I grew up in awe of the innovative spirit surrounding Flushing Meadows-Corona Park. With this event we can shine a spotlight once again on this iconic neighborhood and bring with it the economic benefits, strong community partnerships and local hiring for which Founders Entertainment is known. We are so grateful to the de Blasio Administration and Metropolitan Hospitality for giving us this opportunity and to all the artists who have enthusiastically agreed to take this inaugural ride with us.”
