Kanye Hints at Collaborative New Album With Drake: Watch

It’s a big Monday night for Drake. He capped off OVO Fest with a set that featured appearances from Kanye, Rihanna, French Montana, Future, and others. During his appearance, Kanye asked the crowd, “Is y’all ready for this album?” Then, he clarified, “I wasn’t talking about Pablo. I wasn’t talking about VIEWS. I wanna ask y’all right now: Are y’all ready for this album?” He then pointed at Drake, and Drake gestured back. Earlier this year, Drake revealed in an interview that he and Kanye had been talking about doing a mixtape together.

And that’s not the only news about new Drake music that surfaced tonight. 2 Chainz shared an Instagram post that’s supposedly a text conversation with Drake. The two appear to discuss a new collaboration that’s apparently coming out Friday—a tape called Daniel Son the Necklace Don. Find footage of Kanye’s teaser and 2 Chainz’ Instagram post below.

Kanye recently tweeted about the feud between Apple Music and Tidal, saying he wanted to sit down with Drake, Jay Z, and the other major figures in the two companies. Drake’s VIEWS started as an Apple Music exclusive, while Kanye’s The Life of Pablo began as a Tidal exclusive. After writing that the streaming wars were “fucking up the music game,” he added: “Let the kids have the music.”
