Kanye’s Music Banned on Sacramento Radio Station

On November 19, Kanye West performed at Sacramento’s Golden 1 Center, in what has turned out to be the final stop on his Saint Pablo tour. The show lasted about 30 minutes before he left the stage. During that time, West lashed out at Beyoncé, Hillary Clinton, and Barack Obama, among others. He also criticized radio stations for not playing Frank Ocean or Kid Cudi’s music, and also for playing DJ Khaled and Drake’s “For Free” too much. He declared, “Radio, fuck you! Oh yeah, I’m on my Trump shit tonight. Radio—fuck you!” A Sacramento DJ has now vowed never to play West’s music on his station, as ABC10 points out (via Billboard). On the city’s Hot 103.5, Justin “JayMarZZ” Marshall played and praised The Life of Pablo’s “Fade” before turning it off and explaining West’s ban:

Everybody came out to have a great time Saturday night. A lot of fans in the building–a lot of people had spent a lot of hard earned money, bro, a lot of hard earned time–time, time, time. Time is something we can’t get back. Everyone can get a refund back–but you can’t get your time back. You can’t get the emotion back that you were gonna put into that show, to watch someone that you love–the person you buy their music, to perform. This is called “a moment,” folks–these are what make our lives. Moments and memories to share with each other and stuff, and he took that from people Saturday night.

Marshall then called West “a piece of crap,” and later told him to “go to hell.” He also criticized West for his marriage to Kim Kardashian, calling the Kardashians “the fakest family in the world.”

At the San Jose show preceding his Sacramento concert, West delivered an infamous rant during which he declared that he would’ve voted for Donald Trump had he voted. Since the Sacramento show, West has canceled the remainder of his tour and been hospitalized “for his own health and safety.” On Twitter, Marshall was skeptical of West’s hospitalization, but has also expressed sympathy. Watch him address West’s radio ban, and see his tweets here.
