Kendrick Lamar Sued Over "The Blacker the Berry" Artwork

Kendrick Lamar has been sued over the artwork for “The Blacker The Berry” from this year’s To Pimp a Butterfly, as Bossip reports (via Hot New Hip-Hop). Giordano Cipriani, who took the photo used in the single’s artwork (seen above), says that his work was used without permission. According to Bossip, he’s seeking damages to the course of $150,000 for every time the photograph was used. He also wants Lamar to pay his legal fees.

The suit was filed on July 10. Top Dawg Entertainment, Interscope, and Aftermath are also named as defendants.

We’ve reached out to Kendrick’s representatives for comment.
