Kendrick Lamar recently shared a PSA called “Pay It Forward,” in which he meets with President Barack Obama. Now, he will receive yet another honor: the key to his hometown of Compton, California. The ceremony will take place next month on February 13, as Rap-Up points out. Check out Kendrick’s conversation on Twitter with Compton Mayor Aja Brown below.

In addition to the key announcement, Kendrick has also shared a new promo for his upcoming Reebok sneaker, the Kendrick Lamar Classic Leather, which is out January 16. The video is called “Project Hero” and features fellow Top Dawg member Jay Rock and rapper Glasses Malone discussing their experiences with gangs, as well as their thoughts on Kendrick and his impact. Check it out below.

Kendrick Lamar wore the new Reebok model last week when he performed “Untitled 2” on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” Just today, Kendrick received a nomination for International Male Solo Artist at this year’s BRIT Awards. His album To Pimp a Butterfly came out in March of last year.
