Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN. Hits No. 1 With Biggest Sales Week of 2017

Kendrick Lamar’s excellent new album DAMN. has landed at No. 1 in the U.S. charts, amassing higher single-week sales than any other album this year, Billboard reports. The record, released April 14, unseats Drake’s More Life as the year’s best-selling LP in one week, having moved 603,000 copies (353,000 units in traditional album sales and 340.6 million streams). It’s Kendrick’s third consecutive LP to hit the top spot, following To Pimp a Butterfly and last year’s untitled unmastered., and follows “HUMBLE.”’s entry at No. 2 on the singles chart, Kendrick’s highest. The good news for Kendrick fans ends there, however—he recently confirmed that rumors of a DAMN. companion album are unfounded, though he does have more music in the pipeline.
