Kurt Cobain Plays With Frances Bean In New Montage of Heck Teaser

This morning on NBC’s “Today”, Montage of Heck director Brett Morgen unveiled new footage from his forthcoming Kurt Cobain documentary. A short clip features Cobain playing with his daughter, Frances. Watch it below via “Today”.

Morgan spoke more about his relationship with Francis and her involvement with the movie. “It was really a tribute to Frances,” he said. “And when I met with France the first time, she shook my hand and said, ‘I just met you but already I know you more than I know my father’… And we sat down and she said, ‘Listen here’s the thing, everywhere I go in life, people are always saying you’re dad’s the greatest and he’s like Santa Claus.. Whatever you do, keep it real. Keep it honest. Let’s tell the truth. But use the art to tell the story.’”

HBO will air Montage of Heck on May 4. It is screening in select theaters now.
