Kurt Vile Takes an Animated Trip in His "Life Like This" Video
Kurt Vile‘s new album b’lieve i’m goin down… is out September 25 via Matador. After “Pretty Pimpin’”, he’s shared the video for “Life Like This”. What starts out as a few twinges of animation added to footage of Vile in the studio becomes a psychedelic, fully animated trip. It’s directed and animated by Adam Avilla.
Avilla said in a statement that “Life Like This” is “a story about getting at the heart of inspiration and the surreal disjointed journey that the pursuit entails.” He added: “I feel that artists of all disciplines can relate to such a notion of getting pleasantly (or sometimes unpleasantly) lost in your own thoughts, and from them reap inspiration for our best work.”
