Lauryn Hill Narrates Documentary Concerning Violence

The new documentary film Concerning Violence takes a look at African nations’ struggle to escape colonial rule. Director Göran Hugo Olsson enlisted Lauryn Hill for the film’s narration. The film uses text from Frantz Fanon’s 1961 book The Wretched of the Earth. Watch the trailer below via Fader and read an interview with Olsson about the film and Hill’s involvement at Dazed.

Olsson previously directed The Black Power Mixtape, which featured music by ?uestlove and appearances by Talib Kweli, Erykah Badu, and others. Concerning Violence is in theaters in the UK now, and opens this week in NYC.
