LCD Soundsystem’s Music Festival Is Canceled

In June, it was announced that LCD Soundsystem and CID were curating the new Beach Vibes festival in Riviera Maya on Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula. The event was to take place from January 26-28, 2017, and LCD was set to perform two headlining sets. Hot Chip, Run the Jewels, Carl Craig, DJ Harvey, Holy Ghost!, and more were also set to perform. It has now been announced that the festival will be canceled.

The event organizers said that this was partly because “The event was not coming together in the way that it was envisioned.” People who purchased the festival’s “all-inclusive packages” will be offered a full refund. Read the full statement below:

Beach Vibes, a destination event produced by CID Presents, has been canceled. The event was originally slated for January 27 – 29, 2017 in Riviera Maya, Mexico.

The event was not coming together in the way that it was envisioned, and all parties have agreed that putting on an event that is less than 100% would be a disservice to the fans and bands alike. Therefore, canceling the weekend-long event is in the best interest of all involved.

Fans who purchased all-inclusive packages will be refunded in full, including related airfare expenses, and will receive direct communication from CID Presents in the coming days.
