Le Volume Courbe Announces New Album Featuring My Bloody Valentine's Kevin Shields, Shares "Rusty"

Ten years ago, French singer-songwriter Charlotte Marionneau released I Killed My Best Friend, her debut album as Le Volume Courbe. Now, following February’s “The House”/”Monte Dans Mon Ambulance” single, which featured My Bloody Valentine’s Kevin Shields and Primal Scream’s Martin Duffy, she has announced that album’s followup.

I Wish Dee Dee Ramone Was Here With Me comes out October 30 via Ring the Alarm/Pickpocket. The record features three appearances from Shields, including vocals on a cover of Roky Erickson’s “I Love the Living You”. Check out “Rusty”, one of three tracks Shields mixed, above.

Speaking about the album, Marionneau said:

Now I understand why second albums are ‘difficult.’ Your first album is your ‘best of; the music you’ve made all your life; then you start again from scratch. I’m not prolific, but I need an album to be strong throughout. I have to build it like a collage; I feel more like a producer than a musician really. So I pick up ideas and create songs around them. It’s about trying things, experimenting.
