Liam Gallagher Says “FUCK OASIS,” Calls Noel a “Potato”
Ever since Oasis broke up back in 2009, rumors have swirled about the band getting back together. Most recently, Noel Gallagher told the Daily Star that he’d be up for a reunion for the right price: “For twenty million quid, one gig–that is good money isn’t it?” However, he said, “But I have never had that offer from anyone yet.” Noel added that the holdup is not his fault, but his brother Liam’s, whom he called “a very angry man still.” Nevertheless, Noel is not in much of a hurry, saying, “There might come a day one day where it might seem like a good idea, but I have so much I want to do. I have so much to do on my own that I don’t really see it to be honest.”
Now, Liam has chimed in on Twitter with his own take. And, um, to put it mildly, he does not seem as optimistic about it as his brother. He twice tweeted a photo of Noel with the caption “Potato” and also wrote, “FUCK OASIS.” See his tweets below.
The band may not be getting back together soon, but earlier this month, the in-the-works Oasis documentary got a title and release date. Supersonic, named after the band’s 1994 single, is hitting UK theaters in October. It’s directed by Mat Whitecross, executive produced by Asif Kapadia, and produced by James Gay Reese (director and producer, respectively, for the Amy Winehouse doc Amy).
