Lil Wayne Tweets He’s “Defenseless and Mentally Defeated,” Artists Respond

Earlier today, Lil Wayne took to Twitter to express frustration, writing “I am now defenseless and mentally defeated & I leave gracefully and thankful I luh my fanz but I’m dun.” He continued, writing “aint looking for sympathy, just serenity” and clarifying later “I’m good y’all don’t trip.” Later in the day, Chance the Rapper, Missy Elliot, and Flying Lotus, and others tweeted their support of Wayne. Flying Lotus talked about his longtime admiration of Lil Wayne, and Chance and Missy both wrote reassuring messages to Wayne.  

Lil Wayne is set to perform with 2 Chainz at the Made in America festival later today. They’ll be playing material from Collegrove. 2 Chainz  shared on Twitter that he talked to Wayne and that they’ll be ready to perform tonight: “Just talked to my brotha [Lil Wayne] we good see yal tonight.” Find their tweets below.
