Listen to Fleet Foxes’ Robin Pecknold Cover Curtis Mayfield

Fleet Foxes frontman Robin Pecknold has shared a new Curtis Mayfield cover. In a short video on his Instagram, he sings “The Makings of You” (from 1970’s Curtis). It’s the same track that Kanye West and Jay Z sampled on Watch the Throne bonus cut “The Joy.” Hear Pecknold’s rendition below.

In recent months, Pecknold has given a number of updates on Fleet Foxes’ next album—the long-awaited follow-up to 2011’s Helplessness Blues.
