Listen to Prince’s Unreleased Song “Our Destiny/Roadhouse Garden”

Another previously unreleased Prince track off the forthcoming Purple Rain reissue is now available to stream. The song, “Our Destiny/Roadhouse Garden,” splices together a pair that Prince often combined live. Listen below. “Our Destiny” features Lisa Coleman’s vocals, while “Roadhouse Garden” has Prince on lead vocals with Coleman and Dr. Fink backing. The songs were recorded at First Avenue in Minneapolis in 1984, on Prince’s 26th birthday. A studio recording of “Electric Intercourse” was recently shared, as well. The Purple Rain reissue will feature two discs, one of which contains 11 previously unreleased songs. It arrives June 23 via NPG/Warner Bros.

A new EP, titled Deliverance, was due for release this year, but Prince’s estate sued George Ian Boxill, the engineer behind the project, and successfully stalled it. They said Boxill had signed a confidentiality agreement, a claim Boxill disputes. The title track from that EP, however, is available.
