Lorde Announces New Album Melodrama

Following the release of her new song and video “Green Light,” Lorde has announced her new album. It is titled Melodrama. The Pure Heroine follow-up is due this summer, via LAVA/Republic. Find the album artwork (painted by Sam McKinnis) below. Scroll down for the “Green Light” video.

Lorde co-wrote “Green Light” with Jack Antonoff and Joel Little, her primary collaborator on Pure Heroine. She co-produced the track with Antonoff and Frank Dukes. In an interview with Zane Lowe on Beats 1, she said the track is about “[her] first major heartbreak.” She later elaborated, “The song is really about those moments kind of immediately after your life changes and about all the silly little things that you gravitate towards.” She had previously tweeted that the song is “very different, and kinda unexpected. It’s complex and funny and sad and joyous and it’ll make you DANCE.”

Lorde will appear at a few festivals this year including Coachella, Bonnaroo, and Governors Ball. Read “Tracing Lorde’s Little Clues About Her Sophomore Album” on the Pitch.
