Lorde, Michael Jackson, Tupac Holograms Show Up on "South Park", Nicki, Miley, Iggy Skewered

In recent months, “South Park” has gotten a lot of mileage out of their recurring Lorde storyline, in which it turns out the New Zealand teen is actually Randy Marsh, a middle-aged man and father of main character Stan Marsh. Last night’s episode went back to the well, as Randy—in character as Lorde—performed at a concert alongside Iggy Azalea, Nicki Minaj, and Miley Cyrus.

As the episode goes, a hologram of Michael Jackson is brought out to perform with Azalea. Unfortunately, things go wrong, and the hologram is suddenly set free. Then, a hologram of Tupac is created to hunt the Jackson hologram down—and when “Lorde” protests the usage of so many digital stand-ins, she’s confronted with her own hologram. “You can’t just replace artists with holograms. Who will make the content?” she incredulously asks the evil executive behind it all. Who will make the content, indeed? Watch the full episode below, via Wondering Sound.
