Lorde Previews New Single in Public Teaser Events: Watch
It is happening again—Lorde has released yet more mysterious teasers of new music, this time in public events staged around Auckland, New Zealand. Lorde announced last night that fans could get “a few more little glimpses at what’s coming” by gathering at points highlighted on a map of the city. One location featured a green projection on the side of a building. A clip from the chorus of new Lorde music played, followed by the flashing words “Green Light.” Elsewhere, a parked car was bathed in green light and radioactive-looking smoke, and a green-lit placard appeared, reading, “She thinks you love the beach/You’re such a damn liar.” See the teasers below, via fans’ social media and New Zealand’s Stuff.
The latest teasers follow clips posted on Lorde’s mysterious new website, imwaitingforit.com, one of which originally appeared in ads aired on New Zealand TV. Once again, this teaser indicates that something is happening tomorrow, NYC time. Lorde has long been at work on the follow-up to 2013’s Pure Heroine. The trail of bread crumbs hinting at a new album became more apparent as she was announced on festival lineups including Coachella, Bonnaroo, and Governors Ball.
