M.I.A. Playing First U.S. Shows Since Visa Ban

Last May, before the release of AIM, M.I.A. said she wouldn’t be able to tour the record in the U.S. because she was banned from re-entering the country. Her relationship with her label, Interscope, faltered: Having claimed they might delay the record because she couldn’t promote it in America, she said she’d “love to leak” it but always reconsidered at the last minute. She announced in October that her visa had finally been approved, and tweeted from L.A. in January.
