Mac DeMarco Shares New “One More Love Song,” Launches Fan Fiction Contest
On May 5, Mac DeMarco will release his new album This Old Dog. The latest offering from the record is a song called “One More Love Song.” Listen below. “One More Love Song” follows the title track (and its goofy video), “My Old Man,” and “On the Level.” This Old Dog is a follow-up to 2015’s mini-album Another One (and his first full-length since 2014’s Salad Days). Mac also recently announced a tour with the Flaming Lips and appeared on Marc Maron’s “WTF” podcast.
In other news, Mac has announced his second goofy fan club-related piece of news of the week. Earlier, he launched a search for an assistant proficient in dank memes. And now, he’s announced the Mac DeMarco Fan Fiction contest. From May 1 through August 15, fans can submit “a fun, original piece about anything Mac related.” The winner gets “a drawing of himself/herself with Mac illustrated by one of Mac’s favorite artists, Stefan Marx.” Plus, “the winner’s story will be featured in the Fan Club Fanzine that every member receives at the end of the year.”
