Mac DeMarco Talks Internet Fame, Recording Process in New Episode of Pitchfork.tv's "Entrevista"

Mac DeMarco discussed his recording process, how personal he gets in his writing, and internet fame in a new interview for Pitchfork.tv and Canal 180‘s “Entrevista” series. ”Entrevista” means “interview” in Portuguese, and this show features behind-the-scenes chats with artists. Mac’s interview was taped at the Vodafone Paredes de Coura festival. Watch the episode below.

“The way I’m portrayed on the internet is partly my doing, but it’s partly the people that are presenting it so, you know, people come to know this strange version of a human,” he said. “It can be pretty weird because people think I’m digging through dumpsters and smell like crap all the time.”

Previous episodes of “Entrevista” featured the National, ChvrchesSlintMogwai, and Pond

Correction: A previous version of this story indicated that the Mac Demarco interview was filmed at a different festival.
