Several artists are paying tribute to the late, great Prince by covering his songs. Now, it appears that Mac DeMarco is about to share a cover of his own. “We lost a true hero of mine the other day,” he wrote on Instagram. “Although it’s sad, I’m sure he’s ripping a hot solo right now in the next dimension. RIP.” He wrote that he’s preparing a “#treat in his #honor” that’s coming soon. It’s accompanied by a short clip that makes it sound like DeMarco is working on recording “It’s Gonna Be Lonely” from Prince’s self-titled 1979 album. It follows DeMarco’s recent James Taylor cover.
