Mad Season, Temple of the Dog Reunite With Seattle Symphony Orchestra

Last night, two Seattle-based supergroups reunited for a hometown show with the Seattle Symphony Orchestra. It was the first Mad Season show—the band originally featuring the late Alice in Chains frontman Layne Staley and Pearl Jam‘s Mike McCready—in 20 years. It also featured a performance from Temple of the Dog, the band comprised of Pearl Jam members and Soundgarden‘s Chris Cornell. Watch video below via Consequence of Sound.

Staley died in 2002 and bassist John Baker Saunders died in 1999, so Mad Season’s lineup was rounded out by Guns N’ Roses’ Duff McKagan and Soundgarden’s Chris Cornell. They did “Long Gone Day”, “River of Deceit”, “I Don’t Know Anything”, “Wake Up”, and “Lifeless Dead”.

Temple of the Dog, minus Eddie Vedder, performed “Call Me a Dog” and “Reach Down”. The show ended with “All Alone” featuring Staley’s original vocals, Rolling Stone reports.

Temple of the Dog reunited last year at the annual Bridge School Benefit.
