On February 26, country rock musician Shooter Jennings will release his next album Countach (For Giorgio), a collection of Giorgio Moroder covers, on vinyl via Black Country Rock Media. (It’s out digitally March 11.) Included on the album is a cover of “Cat People (Putting Out Fire),” a David Bowie song written with and produced by Giorgio Moroder. The song originally appeared on the Moroder-helmed 1982 soundtrack for the movie Cat People. (Bowie also included a re-worked version of “Cat People” on 1983′s Let’s Dance.) For his cover, Jennings recruited Marilyn Manson. Listen to it above, via Rolling Stone.

Jennings and Manson join a long list of artists who have paid tribute to Bowie. Just in February, Lady Gaga performed a medley of Bowie’s greatest hits at the Grammys; Beck and the surviving members of Nirvana covered “The Man Who Sold the World“; the Flaming Lips played eight Bowie songs at a concert; Arcade Fire shared video from their New Orleans tribute parade; Wilco covered “Space Oddity“; and Coldplay’s Chris Martin sang “Heroes.”

A pair of Bowie tribute concerts featuring Michael Stipe, Pixies, the Roots, Laurie Anderson, and many more will take place at Carnegie Hall on March 31 and April 1.
