Michelle Obama Enlists Missy Elliott, Janelle Monáe, Zendaya, More for New Song "This Is For My Girls"

Tomorrow, First Lady Michelle Obama will give the opening keynote at SXSW Music. She’ll talk about her Let Girls Learn initiative, which is aimed at boosting education rates amongst adolescent girls around the world. The speech will feature Missy Elliott, Diane Warren, and Sophia Bush, and will be moderated by Queen Latifah. Today, she’s announced “This Is For My Girls,” a new song written by Warren that features Elliott, Janelle Monaé, Kelly Rowland, Kelly Clarkson, Zendaya, Lea Michele, and more. The song will be released at midnight in support of Let Girls Learn, as Rap-Up points out. The First Lady’s SXSW speech will be live-streamed at 10:30 a.m. CDT tomorrow. Update (3/16, 12:04 a.m.): The song is available to purchase now.
