Mikal Cronin Pays Tribute to Paul Simon's "You Can Call Me Al" in His "Say" Video

In Mikal Cronin‘s last MCIII video, for “Turn Around”, comedians Kristen Schaal, Paul Scheer, and Kurt Braunohler remade Natalie Imbruglia’s “Torn”. In the new clip for “Say”, he continues with the goofs.

Directed by Jonah Ray, it’s a dark tribute to Paul Simon’s “You Can Call Me Al” video, except this time there are way too many Chevy Chases to go around… and things get dark. Watch it below via Funny or Die. In addition to Cronin and Ray, the video also stars Braunohler, Nick Thune, Nelson Franklin, and more.

Here’s what Ray had to say about the video:

When my friend Mikal Cronin approached me about doing a video parody of Paul Simon’s “You Can Call Me Al” and said that I would be playing the part of Chevy, I stopped him right there. I said, “Mikal, my dear sweet acquaintance, I alone cannot play ‘the Chevy,’ as we are all ‘the Chevy.’ He is the light, the love, the Fletch.” That’s when Mikal broke down in tears over the phone. I laughed at him and said, “It’ll be okay young, dumb, silly Mikal… It’ll be okay.”
