Miles Davis' Early Prestige Albums Collected in New 10" Box Set

Miles Davis‘ first albums as a band leader are being reissued by PrestigeThe Complete Prestige 10-Inch LP Collection is, as the title suggests, a remastered set compiling the 10″ records Davis released in his early years, from 1951-’54. Out May 13, it’s being packaged as an 11xLP box set, including a bonus record in which Davis guests with Lee Konitz. There’s also a 16-page booklet featuring rare photographs, notes by writer Ashley Kahn, and a print of a painting of Davis. See below for a full list of the albums included.

The box set’s producer Nick Phillips said in a press release, “This collection presents an exciting and important period in Miles Davis’ development as an artist; one in which he is clearly distinguishing himself from the other bop stylists of the era and is rapidly developing the uniquely lyrical and powerful voice that remains so instantly recognizable and influential to this day.”
