Motown Singer Jimmy Ruffin Has Died

Motown singer Jimmy Ruffin has died, TMZ reports. He was 78 years old. According to Ruffin’s children, he passed away on Monday at his Las Vegas home.

Ruffin’s breakthrough happened when his 1966 single “What Becomes of the Brokenhearted” reached #7 on the Billboard charts.

Subsequent singles such as “Gonna Give Her All the Love I’ve Got” and “I’ve Passed This Way Before” were also successful. Years later, 1980′s “Hold On (To My Love)” hit #10 on the Billboard charts.

Ruffin was the elder brother of the late David Ruffin, who was one of the singers in the Temptations.
