Mykki Blanco's Dogfood Music Group Shares Torture and Noise-Filled C-ORE Preview

On September 18, Mykki Blanco will release C-ORE, a compilation introducing Blanco’s new !K7 imprint, Dogfood Music Group. Blanco called the compilation “a slice of what we’re into, our culture and what we want to show the world.” Based on a new 11-minute video featuring excerpts from the compilation, it looks like it’ll be a pretty bleak record. You can check it out below.

The intense video directed by Jude MC stars Blanco, Yves Tumor, Psychoegyptian, and Violence. It’s got torture, destruction, demonic visions, and tons of noise music. “C-ORE follows four vigilantes as they track down a wanted techno-junkie in the middle of developing a new way for users to experience old earth,” reads the video’s description. “After liberating it and trying it for themselves, they fall into a maze of nightmarish parallel realities. Now indoctrinated into C-ORE, they seek to escape the drug by traveling to the limits of their new reality.”

Jude MC notes that the video features hidden clips from movies including Under the SkinBladeTokyo DriftSpawn, Strange Days, and Altered States. “Most new music videos are either direct references or direct copies of other artist works, movies or media—this is my way of acknowledging that and also incorporating my references into the piece itself, rather than just in the treatment.”
