Neko Case Says Case/Lang/Veirs “Colbert” Appearance Canceled for Donald Trump

case/lang/veirs (the group of Neko Case, k.d. lang, and Laura Veirs) just released their self-titled debut album. They were scheduled to perform a song from it tonight on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.” The program has been airing live all week to cover the Republican National Convention. It’s been dubbed “The 2016 Trumpublican Donational Conventrump Starring Donald Trump as the Republican Party* *May Contain Traces of Republican.” As a result of the election coverage, case/lang/veirs’ appearance has been canceled. Neko Case tweeted it’s because “Trump needed more media air time,” adding sarcastically, “He wasn’t getting enough.” Pitchfork has reached out to reps for case/lang/veirs and “Colbert” for more information.

Earlier in the day, Case criticized Trump for not talking about issues despite his major platform. As she put it, he spends his air time “doing wheelies in his jet.” See all of her tweets below.

Like Bernie or don’t but GODDAMN He spoke about real issues and got 0% TV time, but u watch every second of Trump doing wheelies in his jet?
