Oasis Announce Be Here Now Reissue, Share “D’You Know What I Mean” Edit

Oasis have announced a reissue of their 1997 album Be Here Now. It’s out October 7 via Big Brother Recordings, and follows the reissues of the band’s first two albums in their “Chasing The Sun: 1993-1997” series. Be Here Now: Chasing the Sun Edition will come out on standard CD and vinyl, in a special edition 3xCD package, and a super deluxe box set that includes that, a vinyl LP, hardback coffee table book with new liner notes, “exclusive vinyl” (including a sampler of previously unreleased demos from the band’s time on the Caribbean island of Mustique), and Oasis merch.

The reissue of the famously bloated album features one new mix, of the album opener “D’You Know What I Mean?,” which you can hear below. It’s on disc two as “NG’s [Noel Gallagher] 2016 Rethink.” “As the years went by I’d started to accept that the songs on ‘Be Here Now’ were in fact insanely long… too long! Someone (I can’t remember who) had the idea that we re-visit, re-edit the entire album for posterity’s sake,” says Noel Gallagher via a press release. “We got as far as the first track before we couldn’t be arsed anymore and gave up… it does sound fucking mega though!” Classic Oasis.
