Okkervil River Announce Black Sheep Boy 10th Anniversary Reissue and Tour
Ten years ago, Okkervil River released their album Black Sheep Boy. On December 4, Jagjaguwar will release a 10th anniversary deluxe edition box set reissue collecting the original album, the follow-up EP Black Sheep Boy Appendix, and a third LP of unreleased material, covers recorded during the same era. Listen to the unreleased track, a cover of Tom House’s “I’m in Love With Susan Smith”, above.
The album’s liner notes include an essay by Will Sheff discussing the inspiration, influences, and recording process of that album.
The band have also announced a series of tour dates in support of the reissue, in which they’ll play both Black Sheep Boy and Black Sheep Boy Appendix in full. Sheff also has a few solo dates scheduled. Find their itinerary below the tracklist.
