Oneohtrix Point Never Explores the World of LARPing in "Sticky Drama" Short Film

Daniel Lopatin, aka Oneohtrix Point Never, will release his new album Garden of Delete on November 13 via Warp. After sharing video teasers, as well as the tracks “I Bite Through It” and “Mutant Standard”, he’s shared another track from the album, “Sticky Drama”. Listen to it above.

Lopatin has also shared a short film to accompany the track, consisting of two parts: “Sticky Drama (Prologue)” and “Sticky Drama (Music Video)”. In the clips, directed by Lopatin and Jon Rafman, a large group of costumed kids prepare for a Live Action Role Play (LARP) fight, which eventually breaks out in the front yard of a nice home. It’s a disgusting fight, featuring lots of fleshy pustules and straight-up murder—there’s also a Tamagotchi (remember!?) embedded into an anthropomorphic meaty ball, and lots of Nickelodeon-style green ooze. Watch it below.

The film was commissioned by Warp Records and the Zabludowicz Collection, a museum in London. An edited version is showing as part of Rafman’s current exhibit at the gallery.
