Bernie Worrell, a co-founding member of Parliament/Funkadelic, has been diagnosed with cancer, Rolling Stone reports. His wife Judie Worrell wrote on Facebook that he’s suffering from stage-four lung cancer. The Asbury Park Press reports that he’s also been diagnosed with prostate cancer and stage-four liver cancer.

Worrell is currently seeking funds for his album Retrospectives. “He wants his album released in his lifetime,” wrote Judie Worrell, who urges fans to help fund the album and catch any of his forthcoming live performances. Listen to the album sample “You Hit the Nail on the Head” below.

In addition to co-founding Parliament/Funkadelic, Worrell’s credentials include an appearance in the Talking Heads’ Stop Making Sense. He’s also released several solo albums.
