Pavement Members Perform Pavement Songs With Pavement Covers Band

The Crooked Corners are a Nashville-based Pavement cover band who bill their show as “The Ultimate Pavement Experience”. Last week, they performed at local venue the Stone Fox, where they were joined by some surprise guests: Pavement percussionist/vocalist Bob Nastanovich and drummer Steve West, as Spin points out.

Below, watch Nastanovich and West join the tribute group for performances of the Brighten the Corners cut “Stereo”, Slanted and Enchanted‘s “Conduit for Sale”, and Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain‘s “Range Life” (sans West), via Spin.

As Nashville Scene points out, before the band performed “Frontwards” from Watery, Domestic, Nastanovich said, “It was always so awkward onstage [in Pavement]. There was sort of a misery and tension — I don’t see that [here]. What I do see is I see you guys playing our songs better than us.”
