Perfume Genius, Will Oldham, and Tobias Jesso Jr. Are on the New John Legend Album

Today, John Legend released his new album Darkness and Light via Columbia. It includes the previously released Chance collaboration “Penthouse Floor,” as well as previously announced contributions from Miguel, Alabama Shakes’ Brittany Howard, Kamasi Washington, and more. But now it has been revealed that Perfume Genius, Tobias Jesso Jr., and Will Oldham also contributed to Darkness and Light.

Earlier today, Perfume Genius revealed in a tweet that he appears on “Temporarily Painless.” (The album credits confirm this.) Also according to the credits, Tobias Jesso Jr. has writing credits on two songs: “Same Old Story” and “Marching Into the Dark,” and Will Oldham has writing credits on three songs: “I Know Better,” the album’s title track, and “Surefire.” Matt Sweeney also appears on “What You Do to Me.”

Last year, Tobias Jesso Jr. teamed up with Adele for 25’s “When We Were Young.” He also co-wrote Sia’s “Alive” with Adele.
