Pharrell Producing New Musical Film Inspired By His Childhood

Pharrell Williams is co-producing a new musical film inspired by his childhood growing up in Virginia Beach, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Titled Atlantis, the new movie is described as “a Romeo and Juliet style story (with a music element),” and will be directed by Michael Mayer (Spring Awakening, American Idiot). Pharrell recently produced and co-composed on Hidden Figures, the Oscar-nominated picture starring Janelle Monáe, Taraji P. Henson, and Octavia Spencer.
