is looking for freelance video editors for a number of upcoming projects in our Brooklyn office. The ideal candidate is a fast, efficient, and ambitious editor, who is fluent in Final Cut Pro X, as well as Adobe Premiere, and posses a basic understanding of Adobe After Effects. Experience editing music videos, interviews, and vérité documentaries are a must, as is the ability to operate independently in an intense, deadline-driven post-production environment. A fundamental understanding of the music we cover and the type of programming we produce is also very important.

Director of Photography (Freelance)
Pitchfork.tv is seeking freelance Directors of Photography for various upcoming projects around the country. The ideal candidate will be creative, self-motivated, have extensive experience working on music-based programming, and also possess the versatility needed to capture compelling imagery in a variety of scenarios, including: live performance, vérité-based documentaries, interviews, music videos, and commercial work. Experience in lighting for each of these styles is an absolute must. Additional responsibilities will include (but are not limited to): coordinating camera crews/assistants, rental of additional equipment (as needed), and overseeing other shooters and assistants in the field. A fundamental understanding of the music we cover and the type of programming we produce is also very important.

We’re looking for people who are technically savvy, creative, self-motivated, comfortable taking direction, and working with a small team. A fundamental understanding of the music we cover and the live performance programming we produce is also very important.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working within various production styles/environments, including (but not limited to) music video, documentary, and commercial production. Applicants should be technically savvy, creative, self-motivated, and comfortable working with a small team. Responsibilities will include coordinating shoots, booking locations, permits, and equipment, liaising with talent, and working within tight timelines, budgets, and strict deadlines.
