PJ Harvey has announced that the first single from her as-yet-untitled new album will premiere on Thursday, January 21 on Steve Lamacq’s show on BBC Radio 6 Music. Below, listen to a preview of the track.

Harvey’s new album was created in sessions open to the public as part of a London museum exhibition last year.

While making the album (as well as her poetry book The Hollow of the Hand), Harvey traveled to Kosovo, Afghanistan, and Washington D.C. with photographer/filmmaker Seamus Murphy. Last fall, she debuted 10 new songs as part of a multimedia show in London with Murphy: “Chain of Keys,” “The Wheel,” “The Orange Monkey,” “Dollar Dollar,” “The Community of Hope,” “Homo Sappy Blues,” “Medicinals,” “Near the Memorials to Vietnam and Lincoln,” “River Anacostia,” and “The Ministry of Social Affairs”.

Harvey will head out on tour this summer in support of the album. Check out those dates below.

Tune in to Steve Lamacq on @BBC6Music from 4pm GMT Thursday for the exclusive first play of PJ Harvey’s new single. pic.twitter.com/XefY38IZIZ
