Pre-Pearl Jam Band Mother Love Bone Box Set Announced

Pre-Pearl Jam Band Mother Love Bone Box Set Announced

Mother Love Bone was a short-lived Seattle rock band that was established in 1988 by Jeff Ament, Bruce Fairweather, Stone Gossard, Andrew Wood, and Greg Gilmore. They released one studio album, Apple, which was released months after frontman Wood died of a heroin overdose, ending the band. (Ament and Gossard went on to form Temple of the Dog with Chris Cornell as a tribute to Wood, and subsequently formed Pearl Jam with Eddie Vedder.)

Now, for the first time, Mother Love Bone’s work is being compiled for a new reissue. Mother Love Bone: On Earth As It Is collects the band’s 1989 Shine EP, Apple, and two bonus discs of rarities, demos, unreleased songs, and more. A new DVD, Love Bone Earth Affair, contains rare performance footage of the band. The 3xCD+1xDVD/2xLP set is out November 4 via UMC/Stardog and can be pre-ordered here. Check out the album artwork below.
