Producer Mark Bell, Björk Collaborator and Member of Seminal Warp Act LFO, Has Died

Mark Bell, the Leeds house producer, Björk collaborator, and member of seminal Warp Records act LFO, has died, as Warp reports. Bell died last week from “complications after an operation,” according to Warp.

With LFO, Bell helped pioneer IDM and acid house. LFO released three albums: the 1991 classic Frequencies, 1996′s Advance, and 2003′s Sheath. He collaborated extensively with Björk, starting with Homogenic in 1997 and continuing through to 2011′s Biophilia and its tours. Bell also produced Depeche Mode’s 2001 album Exciter.
